Aren’t we all super hyped now that the 5km or 10km radius for our Sydney siders is over? Has this new and relieved freedom opened up your mind to new trips? Need some post COVID trip ideas? Sydney has a wide variety of beautiful places, whether it be sightseeing or restaurants, there is something for everyone! We all have different preferences so maybe this list can help you branch out for new and more interesting spots. Keep on reading to find out some of our favourite spots to take yourself and/or your loved ones!
Sight-Seeing Locations
We all love a beautiful sunset at night. Or if you are keen enough to wake up for sunrise- there is something for everyone.
This beautiful lookout which is framed by the Crown Casino’s gorgeous building is at Millers’ point. It is a gorgeous open space that is perfect for picnics or even just to go and admire the beautiful view of Sydney. You can also admire the lit-up view of Luna park at night, and hear the distant laughter of those on the rides. Observatory hill is the perfect place to catch the sunset and is also easily accessible by public transport. Do remember to bring insect repellant though, because there are heaps of mosquitoes around!
Sea Cliff Bridge is a gorgeous location in which the drive itself takes in 140km of beautiful coastal scenery. Take a trip down to the Grand Pacific Drive. You can even drive with the windows down to enjoy the view, and take in that fresh sea breeze. Make sure you take that iconic photo in front of the bridge, to let everyone know you’ve been there!
- Wendy Whitley’s Secret Garden
This supposedly secret garden is no longer such a big secret, and rightfully so, due to its stunning view and quiet atmosphere. This is the perfect spot in the shade for a gathering or picnic. It also provides a clear view of the harbor. It’s also a perfect place for any budding artists out there to sit in peace and sketch out the beautiful view.
Animal Visits
In case you are unaware of Taronga Zoo, make sure you check it out! As a side note, if you do happen to visit these friendly animals on your birthday, the ticket will only be $1! There is a wide range of animals to see, as well as many activities to do as well. Take a trip on the cable car to get an overhead view of the zoo. Or even stay on the ground and enjoy the good feeds provided in the zoo.
If you are more of a fan of sea- life, then the Sydney Aquarium is the way to go! You may be able to snag a few good deals on Groupon for a cheaper entrance price, to get the most bang for your buck! Fully immerse yourself in the land of these creatures. There is even an overhead glass dome to be surrounded by these beautiful creatures.
Visit Sydney’s Stunning and Unique Beaches
Now, I won’t list them out because there are simply too many beaches in Sydney which draw my attention. If the thought of the smell of saltwater and the soft feel of sand underneath you seems appealing, definitely check out a beach close to you! You can bring a few of your friends or loved ones, or have a self-care day, by bringing a few of your favourite books and snacks and entertaining yourself. If you are interested, definitely go for a swim in the waves. But, make sure you stay within the red and yellow flags!
Watch Some Musicals/ Theatre Performances
Now, I can’t give you a list of shows because when you read this may differ. However, it is highly recommended that you check our Sydney Capitol theatre for some fresh new shows. The experience you get is unforgettable, being able to see some of your favourite films come to life in front of your eyes. You can even munch on some of your preferred snacks as you watch some high-class acting and singing right in front of you. It is also the perfect place to bring your loved ones so you have something to chat about for the next few days!
